From 2019 to 2024, he was CEO of the investment holding company Haniel, one of Germany&#8217;s oldest family-owned companies.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\" zw-cgb fulltext \">He was appointed to the Haniel Management Board in 2017 and was also Chairman of the Management Board of the portfolio company CWS until mid-2019. An academic engineer, he began his career in 1996 in various positions at the US company General Electric (GE) before moving to TE Connectivity in mid-2008 and becoming President of TE Industrial in July 2010.<\/p><p class=\" zw-cgb fulltext \">Thomas Schmidt is committed to &#8220;eco-friendly&#8221; entrepreneurship beyond company boundaries, in which ecological sustainability acts as a driver for economic success.
