Dr. Wilhelm Steger is a manager, consultant and entrepreneur in the automotive and high-tech sectors. Most recently, he headed the lighting and electronics specialist ZKW Group GmbH as CEO until 2024.

Previously, he was CEO of NIDEC Automotive Europe, President Automotive and Industry Panasonic Europe, Managing Director of Delphi Automotive and VP Continental. His career began at Siemens in various management positions.

Steger founded an M&A consultancy for automotive and private equity, is a member of the supervisory board of the ZKW Group, sits on the board of directors of NeoliteZKW in New Delhi and on the board of the Federation of Austrian Industries in Vienna.

After studying mechanical engineering in Munich, he went to the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation in Stuttgart, where he received his doctorate in 1993. He taught at Tsinghua University in Beijing and took an MBA program at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in the USA.
