Axel Stepken has more than 30 years of international management experience in the energy, infrastructure and automotive industries.

After studying electrical engineering and obtaining his PhD at RWTH Aachen University, he worked for 11 years in various management functions at ABB in Germany and Indonesia.

He then moved to TÜV SÜD as a member of the Board of Management, where he was responsible for the Industry segment and the Asia region for 5 years. Finally, he was chairman of the board for 15 years.

Since 2016, he has been an honorary professor at the Chair of Strategy and Organization at the Technical University of Munich. He has many years of experience on various supervisory and advisory boards of technology companies and participates as an investor and advisor in start-ups. He is chairman of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV).
